The Pavilion Restaurant in Oxford Street designed by Angus McBean in 1951.
As it appeared in the May, 1988 issue of The World of Interiors.

I remember these photographs when they first appeared in WoI - an astonishing twenty-three years ago.

Was it not McBean that played all the characters in the photograph?

Blue - No, it was his partner David Ball. Ball also helped with the interior.

DT - it was proposed for conservation as an example of a Festival of Britain interior, but sadly the proposal was not supported.
