Interesting that you should use "hare". Here it's "rabbit" - or is that splitting hairs? Even more strangely in Vietnam it's the Year of the Cat, (apparently because they think a rabbit is a pest like a rodent). Kung Hei Fat Choi!

C - The character is the same for both. In our house it was always hare.
But that should be no indication of anything. My maternal grandfather was born in Shanghai in the late 1880s - even though he was quite modern in many ways - that fact did tend to colour things.

I think hare sounds better than rabbit, especially if you are one. I'm a monkey. Apparently it's going to be a peaceful year, so they say xx
